March 21, 2003 - SONICblue files for chapter 11
bankruptcy.
November 1, 2000 - S3 Incorporated today announced a
name change to SONICblue and will begin trading on November
15, 2000 under the stock ticker symbol SBLU. With the exit of
its desktop and portable graphics chips and board businesses,
SONICblue will be highly focused on digital media and
information appliance opportunities.
April 11, 2000 - S3 Incorporated announces it has
signed into agreement to transfer it's graphics business to
a newly established joint venture with VIA
Technologies, Inc.
February 1, 2000 - S3
announced today that it has finalized the acquisition of
substantially all of the assets of Number
Nine Visual Technology Corporation.
September 24, 1999 - S3 Incorporated and
Diamond
Multimedia Systems announced today that the merger of the two companies has been
approved by both S3 and Diamond’s shareholders. Under the terms of the merger,
shareholders of Diamond Multimedia will receive .52 of a share of S3 stock for each share
of Diamond Multimedia stock held.
