my computer can connect to a broadband but cannot open any webpage(always get error message) and my hotmail box in outlook express freezes.

however, when i use a dial-up connection, everything is ok.

can anyone help to locate the problem? thanks.

my system is win98se.  Huh?

Try running Connection Wizard and make the correct choices.

Program Files/Internet Explorer/Connection Wizard/INETWIZ <double click> and then choose LAN

Please post as much information about your computer, operating system, and problem as possible, what happened prior to problems, etc. Too much info is OK, too little is pointless! Don't just say "My computer doesn't work. What's wrong?

I'm sorry, you didn't mentioned what you had tried. Anything else?

Physically remove your dialup lead.

Is this from broadband or dialup?

Those are terrible ping times, all should be below 100ms.  Contact your ISP.  What country, who is ISP.
