TROUBLESHOOTING

Cannot print with other parallel devices such as a Zip drive / SuperDisk.

Canon printers such as the BJC-610 and BJC-620 printers have a bi-directional communications feature which can cause intermittent problems with other parallel devices. To resolve this issue, Canon has posted Non-WPS Printer Drivers found through our Printers Drivers section.

Ink cartridges replaced frequently.

After you are done using the printer it is recommended you turn off the printer VIA the power button on the printer. If the printer is turned off with an external source, the printer does not run through the routine of blocking off the openings for the ink cartridges causing the ink to evaporate.

Replacing ink.

The majority of Canon products require that you buy their ink through Canon and not a third-party vendor. While most Canon compatible ink cartridges will work with most printers, putting in third-party ink may void your Manufacturer's warranty.

TROUBLESHOOTING CONTINUED

Installing printer in Windows NT

Some of the older model printers will not work in Windows NT because of incompatible drivers, visit our Drivers Page for links to the Canon driver page. If your printer has Windows NT drivers it should work within Windows NT.

Installing printer in Windows XP

Canon does not support Windows XP drivers for its BJC-5000, BJC-5100, CD-300 and CP-10. All other printers should either be supported by the drivers included with Microsoft Windows XP or drivers can be downloaded through the Canon Drivers Page.
