Verify that the print density dial at the rear of the printer is set at the center
position.
Turn the printer on and wait until the printer is ready.
Press the ON-LINE key until the light goes off. Press TEST key twice.
The form feed light should begin flashing, indicating data is in the print buffer.
Once completed, press ON-LINE key again.
How to print on special paper /
manual print.
The below information applies to the Packard Bell PB9815A/PB9805A
Laser Printers.
Irregular shaped paper, envelopes,
post cards, labels, etc., that cannot be cassette fed, are manually
fed. Below is paper specifications for the printer to feed and print
properly:
16 to 32 pound Executive size
(7.25" x 10.5")
Letter size (8.5 x 11 inch)
Legal size (8.5 x 14 inch)
A4 (8.27 x 11 inch) (210 mm x 297 mm) Transparencies, Envelopes,
Labels)
The below papers will cause
troubles and should not be used in the printer.
Coated sheets and extremely smooth
or shiny paper.
Thermal paper or paper using low temperature dyes.
Stapled or folded paper.
Carbonless or layered paper.
These types of paper will not only
cause jamming but also damage the printer rollers.
To manually feed the printer, follow
the below steps:
- Confirm the emulation displayed
on the display panel.
- Enter the off-line state.
- Press the Menu key once and
*PRINTING MENU* will be displayed.
- Press the Menu key to display
"MANUAL FEED=XXX"
- Press the Plus or Minus key to
display "MANUAL FEED=ON"
- Press the Enter key to select.
- Press the ON LINE key.
- Press the ON LINE key again, to
enter the off-line state.
- Hold down the RESET/CONT key.
"00 READY (XXXX)M" will be displayed and the setting
for manual feed is completed.
- Once completed, set the manual
feed tray feed guide to the paper size.
- Carefully insert the paper and
the printer will automatically feed the paper a small amount.
- When the printing data is sent
from the host computer, the printing will begin.
Caution: When manually feeding
irregular shaped paper or envelopes, etc., pull out the front
panel and discharge the paper onto the face up tray.
