Issue:

Error 630: Port disconnected due to hardware failure.

Cause:

This issue could be caused by any of the below reasons.

1. Modem already being used
2. Modem not setup properly 

Solution:

Modem already being used

It is possible that the computer or other application may already be utilizing the computer modem. To help ensure that no other program is utilizing the modem, End Task all TSRs on the computer and then attempt to connect to the Internet or other connection again.

Modem not setup properly

Verify that the modem is setup correctly and properly installed by following the steps found on document CH000264.
