How do I change network settings from MS-DOS?

Question:

How do I change network settings from MS-DOS?

Answer:

Users who are running Microsoft Windows 2000 or Microsoft XP can change their network settings such as their IP address from MS-DOS mode by using the netsh command. See our netsh command page for additional information and help with using this command.

We are unfamiliar with any method of how other Microsoft Windows users such as Microsoft Windows 95, Windows 98, and Windows ME users can change their network settings through MS-DOS.
