This document also refers to users who are encountering the error message: "BIOS not installed because there are no drives attached".

Answer:

This message is generated by computers with SCSI / RAID controllers when no bootable drive is detected on the controller. This is not an error message unless you have a bootable drive on the SCSI / RAID or you are wanting to use a SCSI or RAID drive.

If you are not using a SCSI or RAID drive and your computer has onboard a SCSI or RAID controller, this message can be disabled by entering the computer BIOS and disabling the onboard SCSI or RAID. Additional information about how to enter the BIOS setup can be found on document CH000192.
