Where do I download the .NET framework?

Question:

Where do I download the .NET framework?

Answer:

Programs that have been packaged using the .NET Framework need to have the .NET Framework installed on the computer in order to be installed onto the computer. If you've downloaded a .msi file and are unable to install the program or are getting a .NET framework error download the latest .NET framework from Microsoft.

The latest .NET framework can be downloaded from Microsoft's .NET Framework Developer Center.

Some programs may not work unless the exact .NET Framework is installed on the computer. If the program has been created with an earlier .NET Framework such as 1.1 (1.1.4322) can be found through this Microsoft page.
