How do I make a CD or DVD from an ISO file?

Answer:

There are several commercial and non-commercial software programs available that will allow users to create a CD or DVD from an ISO image. For this document we're recommending CDBurnerXP Pro and/or ImgBurn, both of these programs are easy to use and free. Below are the steps required for creating a CD or DVD using either of these programs.

If you've created an ISO of your DVD movie after following the steps in document CH000942 we suggest using ImgBurn to also create the DVD from the ISO.

CDBurnerXP Pro

CDBurnerXP Pro is a great free software program we recommend a lot. This program is not only capable of creating a CD or DVD from an ISO image but is also capable creating other types of CD's and DVD's. If you don't already have this program installed on your computer it can be found and downloaded from the CDBurnerXP Pro home page. Below are the additional steps

1. Open CDBurnerXP Pro.
2. Insert a blank CD or DVD.
3. Click the option to create a new Data-CD/RW, Data-DVD/RW, Video-DVD or create and/or burn an ISO image.
4. Click File, Write Disc from ISO Image
5. Browse to the location of the ISO image and click the Write Disc option

ImgBurn

ImgBurn is a great free program designed by the same individuals who created DVD Decrypter. This utility can be downloaded from the ImgBurn home page. After ImgBurn has been installed onto the computer follow the below steps.

1. Open ImgBurn.
2. Insert a blank CD or DVD.
3. Right-click on the .ISO file you wish to create as a CD or DVD and click the option to Burn using ImgBurn or open ImgBurn and
4. Click the write button to start the burn. This button looks like a picture of a hard disk drive pointing to a CD.
