Answer:

Below are the various steps on how you can open Windows Media Player in Microsoft Windows.

  1. Click Start
  2. From the Start menu click Programs.
  3. Within Programs you should see a shortcut for Windows Media Player.

or

  1. Click the Windows Media Player icon ( Picture of Windows Media Player icon. ) in the Quick Launch portion of the Windows Taskbar.

Once Windows Media player is open you can determine what version you have installed on your computer by following the below steps.

  1. Click Help in the top menu. If you do not see the File, View, Play, Tools, Help menu at the top of the Windows Media Player see document CH000973 for additional information on enabling this toolbar. Or press the Alt key and then click Help.
  2. Under Help click About Windows Media Player. This window will display the current version of Windows Media Player.
