Erase

Erase may refer to any of the following:
1. With the MS-DOS and Windows command line, erase is a command to remove one or more files from the computer. See the erase command for further information.
2. Erase is a term that describe the process of removing or deleting text or other data. In most situations, when data is erased from the hard drive, it's marked as deleted yet remains on the hard drive until it's overwritten by something else. Deleted files can be recovered from the hard drive because they are only marked as erased.
Tip
When text is erased, it can be undone with the undo option.
