Spell may refer to any of the following:

Spell check underlines

1. In general, spelling refers to arranging letters appropriately to create a word. With computers, many programs contain a spell-checking feature that makes suggestions to users as they type or fix incorrectly spelled words. See our spell checker page for further information and related terms.

2. With Linux, the spell is a command used to check the accuracy of word spelling. See our Linux spell command page for further information.

3. With gaming, a spell or magical spell is an ability or spoken word with special properties. Spells are cast by in-game characters, usually consuming resources like mana or energy. As a spell is cast, this resource is drained, so the player's class (e.g., mage, sorcerer, or warlock) can only use a few spells at a time. Blink in World of Warcraft is an example of a spell that allows a character to teleport forward a short distance.
