theinquirer.net -- BIG BLUE has hammered the final nails into OS/2's coffin. It said that all sales of OS/2 will end on the 23rd of December this year, and support for the pre-emptive multitasking operating system will end on the 31st December 2006.

* Virus:

Worm spells double trouble for PCs
news.com.com -- A double-edged threat that attempts to hijack PCs has surfaced in at least three variants, security companies warned on Friday.

Virus plays on terror attacks
pcpro.co.uk -- Security companies are warning of an email virus, which plays on the public need for information on the terror attacks on London.

* Security:

Potter fans warned to beware of online fraudsters
computerworld.com -- On the heels of a study showing that nearly 10% of U.S. Internet users have lost money to an e-mail scam, comes Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, the sixth book in the series, due out at 12:01 a.m. Saturday. Odds are that a career online scammer is working on a legitimate-looking e-mail pitch offering the opportunity to buy the book online.

Windows flaw could spawn DoS attacks
news.com.com -- A newly discovered and as-of-yet unpatched security vulnerability in Windows XP could let an attacker remotely crash computers.

Microsoft patches IE, Word, Windows
computerworld.com -- Microsoft Corp. has released three software updates that patch critical security flaws in its products, including a patch for an Internet Explorer vulnerability first reported last week. The company also released patches for Microsoft Word and for a feature of the Windows operating system used by a number of applications.

Study: Number of Zombie PCs Jumps
betanews.com -- Zombie PCs, or computers that have been infected with software that allows the machine to be used to spread viruses and software, have increased at an astronomical rate in the last quarter according to research by antivirus company McAfee.

* Privacy:

Hackers attack Mozilla site to spread spam
theregister.co.uk -- Hackers attacked a site promoting Firefox last weekend in order to commandeer it to send spam, the Mozilla Foundation said on Friday. The attack was limited to community marketing site SpreadFirefox.com. In a statement, the Mozilla Foundation said the unspecified security vulnerabilities were exploited to mount the attack.

This week we came across the Optimus OLED keyboard. This is a fantastic idea for new type of keyboard that uses a OLED display to display whatever the user wants on each key. This means a user could easily display any language characters or graphic on each of the keys. Although this product is still in the concept phase we can't wait to see this in the future and recommend reading the above Primotech review.
