Samba ( http://www.computerhope.com/jargon/s/samba.htm ) -
Popular freeware software program that allows end-users using SMB/CIFS clients to access and use files, printers and other commonly shared network resources. Samba is commonly used on Linux computers, allowing the network shares to be accessed by other computers such as computers running Microsoft Windows.

Microsoft's antivirus deletes users' e-mails
zdnet.com.au -- Microsoft has admitted that its Live OneCare security suite has been accidentally deleting some users' Outlook and Outlook Express e-mails.

* Security:

McAfee maps malware risk domains
theregister.co.uk -- A global road map of the riskiest and safest places to surf online found Russian and Romanian sites among the top-level domains most commonly hosting malicious downloads, browser exploits, and scams.

Google's Blog Software Hijacked by Scammers
news.yahoo.com -- Google's blogger.com is being hijacked to spread malware through fake blogs, a security vendor has warned.

RSA to offer Trojan take-down service
infoworld.com -- EMC's RSA division plans to launch a new service next month that will help financial institutions take down Web sites associated with malicious Trojan Horse software.

Chinese hackers wake up to malware
itweek.co.uk -- Security researchers are noticing an increase in malware originating from China, which is adding to the challenge of investigating online threats.

Hackers Promise Month of MySpace Bugs
pcworld.com -- They won't divulge their real names, they call their project a "whiny, attention-seeking ploy," and they appear to take their fashion cues from Beastie Boys music videos.

* Privacy:

Google to anonymize logs in a nod to privacy advocates
arstechnica.com -- In its continuing quest not to be evil (or, at least, to be less evil), Google today announced an overhaul of its privacy policy. User searches will no longer be tagged indefinitely with an IP address and cookie information, so privacy junkies can feel better about the security of their search historysort of.

This week we came across Colibri, a great free utility that can be installed on a Windows computer and allow you to quickly run a program from anywhere without having to move your hand away from the keyboard. Once installed a user can press CTRL + Space to open the Colibri menu and type the name of the program they wish to run, as you type possible selections will appear and allow you to select from the available options. For example, a user could type cal or calculator to open calculator or not to open notepad.

Also we recently came across a fantastic website that list upcoming events for your location or for almost any other major location in the world. This is a great way to find out what's going on in your state or if you're traveling somewhere a great way to easily find out if anything interesting will be going on while you're there.
