About Polls
Polls are a fun way to vote easily on a topic you may have an opinion
on. Computer Hope conducts a new poll every month, generally on touchy or highly debated
computer topics. Below is a listing of each of
the polls that Computer Hope has conducted in the past and the results of each of
those polls. In addition to each of the results of the polls, Computer
Hope has taken time to explain why the poll was conducted as well as
where it stands.
How polls are conducted:
Each Month Computer Hope
allows its visitors to vote on what they think about
different topics relating to computers or the industry. At
the end of each month, Computer Hope also puts its own opinions in
about the poll and why it was conducted.
Each poll is only conducted
for a month and at the end of that month no more votes are
added to that poll. Occasionally we may conduct a popular or
controversial poll again to see how the votes may have or
may have not changed. Generally, if this occurs, it will be
one or more years after the original poll was conducted.
About users who voted on
the polls:
Each month's poll is placed
on Computer Hope's main page,
Computer
Hope's what's new page, and this page. Users who
vote on these polls are visitors to the Computer Hope
website and participate at their own will. The user's
IP
address is logged if they participate in a poll to help
prevent multiple votes. However, at the end of the month,
this log is permanently deleted and this information is
never shared with any third-party. See our
legal
page if you have any additional privacy concerns or
questions.
If you would like to make a
recommendation or have additional questions or comments,
please feel free to contact our
webmasters.

players, iTunes and other online services, and the decrease in sales
of CD's we thought it would be interesting to see if those users who
have CDs have ripped any of them to their computer.
What does Computer Hope think? Like many of our visitors we
would have voted over 100 as we've ripped our entire music
collection on CDs to a digital format.

What is this all about? Microsoft Windows commonly prompts
users to restart their computer after updating software, drivers and
performing other system tasks. Often when prompted users can choose
to restart at a later time. We thought it would be interesting to
see how many of our visitors restart their computer when prompted.
What does Computer Hope think? Like most of our visitors we
would of voted sometimes. Many times we're often involved in
something and put rebooting the computer off until later.

something no one wants to deal with. However, for the majority of
computer users you're likely to encounter some type of hardware

it would be interesting to see how many of you have encountered a
hardware failure and if so what device has failed on you. This month
allowed users to vote on more than one thing.
What does Computer Hope think? This month we would have voted
for all available options as we've encountered one or more failures

What is this all about? In the United States on
February 17, 2009 all traditional analog signals will stop
being broadcasted, which means if you do not have a TV or
tuner capable of interpreting the digital signal you'll be
unable to watch TV. With this date fast approaching we
thought it would be interesting to see how many users have
already upgraded.
What does Computer Hope think? Like many of our
users we have already upgraded to a HDTV and are ready for
the conversion. We were surprised to see many of our users
voted that they don't need high-definition. We're assuming
that this is because of users who are outside of the United
States.

them.
What does Computer Hope think? For this months
poll unlike the majority of our users we voted between five

what they back it up to.

software, movies, and MP3's and how many of them would confess it.
What does Computer Hope think? Like many of our visitors admittedly in
the past we have obtained MP3's though services such as Napster and software
