Nest Labs
Founded in June 2010 by Tony Fadell and Matt Rogers, Nest Labs is a manufacturer of smart home and security products for home and business owners. Some Nest security devices, like the Nest Hello video doorbell, are motion-sensitive, activating when motion is detected. When activated, the security devices record activity in front of the device. Other Nest products include smart thermostats, helping users more efficiently manage the temperature in their home. Nest devices are linked together through the Nest app, available on Android and iOS mobile devices.
Google acquired Nest Labs in January 2014. Google merged Nest Labs into its home devices division in 2018. The Nest brand of devices was changed to Google Nest in 2019.
