    Hi,

Today I have been getting this error along with other stuff popping up on my computer. The full message reads: "Application cannot be executed. The file *** is infected. Do you want to activate your antivirus software now?"

I have been searching on google trying to find a fix and have come across this website.

The problem I am having is that I can barely open anything up on my computer to try and fix the issue. So it is proving rather difficult. Whenever I try to open something up it just closes down again straight away.

I can provide anymore information if needed, I'm sure, to anyone who can help.

The help will be much appreciated.

    Marc

Edit: I have tried to run HiJackThis as per the pinned topic and it is giving me the same error as normal:

"Application cannot be executed. The file wuauclt.exe is infected. Do you want to activate your antivirus software now?"

Just an update, this has gotten even worse. I can barely see my screen. I tried to install the AVG anti virus as directed in the pinned topic, this will not install because when I double click on the application file it just disappears like everything else.

I have tried to do this in safe mode but as I am not connected to the internet it won't allow me to do this either. I feel like throwing the thing out of the window (not that it will help lol)
