Bearshare and SP2
« on: September 08, 2004, 08:26:56 PM »
Has anyone else had problems running bearshare or kazaa, or any p2p networks for that matter with SP2, and is there a way to patch the problems, because I have heard that SP2 limits connections to open ports, or something like that, I forget exactly what.

How about turning off the Firewall that is automatically turned on when installing SP2?

And get rid of the P2P programs, they are nothing but a hazard to your privacy/security.

Kazaa = bad
Azerus = good

Go with the bit torrent system of getting files.  It's fast.

My bad.. Azureus.  There are lots of bittorrent clients out there.  I think Raptor uses BitTornado or something like that.

That's right, BitTornado.

I tried Azureus, didn't quite like it. I went back to Bit Tornado a few minutes later on.
