You cannot even start the installation?

Have you tried removing redundant files and cleaning the registry?

Use a tool such as Advanced System Optimizer V2, Regseeker and/or Advanced Uninstaller Pro 2004

What happens when you attempt to install other software than Power DVD?

thanks  for replying raptor . i have installed dvdrw on a new pc  but had problems and reinstalled it i have also removed all software that came bundled with it via windows xp add/remove programs but i notice power dvd will not completely remove from list -although it is not installed on pc it is still showing a trace on add/ remove programs. is this a registry problem perhaps??
-all other software loads ok!!!
grateful

I suggest you look into the programs I linked you to in my article.

This program can remove faulty Add/Remove entries:

System Mechanic

And more. A very decent program everyone should have.

Be certain to properly read instructions provided with these programs. And if there is a backup button present, donot forget to tag it.
