default email program

my default email, from my XP start button is outlook express. it can only be changed to windows live mail. is there a way to change that to my aol mail?

Is AOL mail entirely web-based?  In other words, you do not download it to your computer, you view it via your web browser? 

Open Control Panel, Internet Options, select the Programs tab, and see what options you have there.   If AOL Mail is not listed there, that's a clear indication AOL Mail is web-based.  If so, you won't be able to set it as a default Email program.
