IE won't open

I just updated my IE to IE8 (from IE7).
In the /Program Files/Internet Explorer folder, all of the files have or include version info starting with "8.0" and even from the executable file, it won't start.
Nor from the desktop shortcut.
It worked fine before I restarted. I tried all possible commands in DOS or CMD (whatever it is), and nothing works.
Opera works fine though.
I just want IE8 to work.
