My brother was given a UNISYS OpenSystems 4163sx computer with 3.5 and 5
1/4 floppy drives and a 50pin SCSI FUJITSU M2622SA 330Mb HDD.
He wants to install a Western Digital WDE 2170 (2.1Gb) ULTRA fast Wide SCSI-3 Interface HDD.
What is the recommended action.
1. obtain an adapter (SCSI 50pin to SCSI 68pin) {if such a thing exists}
2. install an ISA SCSI 68pin expansion card.
He needs to fit the larger capacity SCSI HDD so that he can replace the 5
1/4 FDD with a CD/DVD, to then install a small version (Ubuntu / Puppy / DamSmall) of Linux.
3. is it even possible for this computer to have a CD/DVD installed.
He currently has an IDE HDD fitted but the internal space is so cramped that the IDE cable will not fit a CD/DVD and a HDD at same time.
Thank you
