Hi,

If I log onto a website, my bank website for example, they already know that it is me if I use my computer. So how do they know that it is me? Do they place a cookie on my hard drive?

Thanks!

There are a few different ways that they can do this but it is usually done by a cookie as you said.  Saved passwords on the other hand are stored within your browser.
