    Pages not all loading
    « on: March 10, 2009, 08:26:10 AM »
    Hello All,

I am working on my first web project and, have encountered problems with some of my new pages loading. I have checked the html and can find no errors in the code. I do everything in lower case as well. Below is the code in question.

    <a href="smg.htm">Suicide Memorial Garden[/url]

    <a href="inmg.htm">Infant Memorial Garden[/url]

    <a href="mmg.htm">Military Memorial Garden[/url]

    <a href="pubserv.htm">Public Service Memorial Garden[/url]

    <a href="pmg.htm">Pet's Memory Garden[/url]

The last four pages were recently added. Out of this list, the first & third are the only ones that work. The strange thing? If I would move "smg.htm" to the "inmg.htm" it works fine. As I am a novice, this seems a little strange. Now when I'm working through my site file. The pages I mentioned that did not display? They show in the browser. It shows the page in the top blue bar here. But when I try and access it from another page I get...
Internet Explorer cannot display the web page.

As I do not have my site on a server. I know it would be hard to determine without seeing the sight in action. I was wondering, if some of you might have some suggestions I can try?  ???

    I have windows XP
    No error message
    computer is a Compaq

    Thanks, john721  8)  ;D

You are mixing HTML with BBCode.

BBCode is short for Bulletin Board Code, and is used on forums, boards, etc.

HTML is obviously what you want to use.

    Code: [Select]
    <a href="smg.htm">Suicide Memorial Garden</a>

[/url] is the closing tag for <a>, not [/url]

The thing I can't understand is how those board symbols even got in the code! lol I just copied and pasted it in from my Yahoo acnt. I proofed it there & pasted it on the forum. This is how it really looks like.  8)

OK, it obviously has to do with copy and pasting from Yahoo....I guess, as it happened again.

Here is how they all look like.

Did it again, I give up. But I typed it in this time as it should be. Suffice it to say, the code is right, as was in the example from kpac. I have to admit, it is frustrating as all pages in the site work except three. I thought that it had something to do with the site sitting dormant for over a year. But, one of the new pages worked right off the bat.

              Thanks again for your response.

its the way that its pointing such as I can have a page here that could redirect you to a differnt site in so I have to provide the full path.
