Windows XP loading screen trouble

When I go to load my laptop, the Windows XP splash which loads takes around 3-5 mins to load. Can anyone give me any help?


Additonal info: I recently installed Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 on my computer and thought this couldve been the problem. I then uninstalled this but the problem continues.

Boot into safe mode / go to system tools / choose system restore & choose a point in time prior to the problem & restore.
