Affiliate program

A company or website that directs customers to other businesses or websites, and receives compensation for the referral. The compensation may be a percentage of what the customer purchases, or a bonus when a user signs up for a service.

For example, Computer Hope's computer buying tips section contains links related to an affiliate program of Amazon. When someone follows any of the links on this page and buys something, Computer Hope receives a percentage of the sale.
