Alias

An alias may refer to any of the following:

1. Alternatively called a nick or handle, an alias is an alternate name for a computer, object, person, group, or user. Usually, an alias is used to replace long names or keep a real name private. For example, in chat Computer Hope uses the alias "MrHope" and "Computerhope."

2. A Linux command, see the alias command page for further information about this command.

3. With a display, aliasing or anti-aliasing is the smoothness along text and other graphics. See our anti-aliasing definition for further information on this term.
