Applet may refer to any of the following:

Applets written on a sign attached to a flag pole.

1. An applet is a small, supplemental program that does a job a larger program is incapable of doing. For example, a Sun Java applet is a file on an Internet web page that provides additional functionality not supported by HTML (HyperText Markup Language).

2. When writing in HTML, the <applet> tag is used to embed the Java applet described in the first definition on this page.
