With computers, C: is commonly used to denote the C drive or the first primary hard drive and partition on IBM compatible computers. In Windows, a user can get to the C: drive by opening My Computer. This drive is also labeled as Local Disk or Primary Drive, as seen in the picture below of the Primary Drive (C:) in Windows 10.
