A controller may refer to any of the following:
1. With gaming, a controller is an input device to control a computer game or simulation. Common examples of controllers include a mouse, keyboard, and gamepad.
2. A controller is an expansion card or IC (integrated circuit) on the computer motherboard that enables communication between the computer and another hardware device. For example, a storage controller is what allows a computer to communicate with a storage device.
