EPYC

EPYC (pronounced epic) is a line of server CPUs designed by AMD and released in June 2017. EPYC CPUs operate on the Zen microarchitecture and use the SP3 socket type.

The EPYC line is a direct competitor to Xeon processors by Intel, designed primarily for data center operation.

Up to 64 MB of L3 cache.
Support for up to 2 TB of DDR4-2666 RAM (Random-Access Memory).
Up to 128 PCIe (PCI Express) lanes.
