Forward
Forward may refer to any of the following:
1. With e-mail, forward is a button or feature that lets you send a received e-mail to another e-mail address. For example, if customer service receives an e-mail, they may forward it to a manager, who may forward it to the CEO (chief executive officer).
When dealing with phishing or other security-related e-mail questions it's best to forward the e-mail to the expert analyzing the e-mail. If "Forward as attatchment" is supported, use that option for even better results.
Forward vs. reply
When you forward an e-mail, it sends a copy of that e-mail to others without adding anything additional to the e-mail. Forwarding an e-mail also is a good way to forward an e-mail with an attachment. If you wanted to add some additional information to the e-mail you would reply to the e-mail.
2. With an Internet browser, forward moves you forward a page. It only works if you have previously used the back button. If you have not gone back and your browser shows a forward button, it will be grayed out.
3. With a keyboard, forward is the right arrow key on the arrow keys.
Sometimes (e.g., in online games), "forward" may also be the up arrow on the arrow keys that moves your character forward.
