Updated: 09/19/2024 by Computer Hope

A lens flare is an optical effect that is often seen as a halo or washed out portion of the image. The picture is a software generated lens flare to help demonstrate how they look. When taking a photograph, lens flare often occurs when shooting into a bright light source.
