Long press
Updated: 09/19/2024 by Computer Hope

With a multi-touch (touch screen) device, a long press is holding one's finger on the screen for a few seconds. Its purpose is to add the functionality of a second button where one does not exist. Microsoft Windows users could equate this action to right-clicking a desktop or laptop computer. Examples of devices that use this technology are smartphones and tablet computers.
