Momentum cache
Updated: 03/06/2020 by Computer Hope
Momentum Cache is a technology developed by Crucial, compatible only with Crucial brand SSDs. It enables users to dedicate a portion of their DRAM (Dynamic Random-Access Memory) to speeding up their SSD (Solid-State Drive). The high-speed DRAM cache reduces I/O latency, improving performance of the SSD.
Momentum Cache is controlled by Crucial Storage Executive, proprietary software that requires Microsoft Windows 7 or above. The cache can use 25% of available system memory, up to a maximum of 4 GB.
