Print buffer
Updated: 11/12/2024 by Computer Hope
A print buffer is a location in memory that holds data to be sent to a printer. This storage area is useful when there are multiple print jobs or a device is awaiting a response from a printer. Essentially, print buffers allow users to keep working on other tasks while waiting on a printout.
Print buffers generally utilize RAM (Random-Access Memory) to store their queued print jobs and sort their work using the FIFO (First In, First Out) method.
