Scissor switch

A scissor switch is one way that keys can be attached to a keyboard. Two pieces of interlocking plastic connect the key to the keyboard, moving in a "scissor-like" fashion when the key is depressed. It is used on low profile keyboards, such as those on a laptop computer.
