Smart cable

A smart cable may refer to any of the following:
1. Alternatively called an intelligent cable, a smart cable is a cable with circuitry to convert transmissions from one format to another if necessary.
2. Smart cables may also be a cable that converts from one standard into another. For example, a cable that allows a SCSI (Small Computer System Interface) device to work through USB (Universal Serial Bus).
