Tactile output
Updated: 02/06/2025 by Computer Hope
Tactile feedback or tactile output is a technology that provides the user with a physical response (something they feel) when providing input. For example, some smartphones have a tactile output of a small bumping feeling when touching the touch screen. Giving the user a physical response as they type gives the user a feeling similar to what they get when typing on a physical keyboard. This feedback helps users know that the action they performed (e.g., pressing an onscreen keyboard key) was done.
