Viewing angle
Updated: 10/23/2024 by Computer Hope
The viewing angle or display angle is the measure of degrees off from center that an LCD (Liquid-Crystal Display) screen, like an LED (Light-Emitting Diode) monitor or TV, can be viewed clearly. Looking at the display outside the optimal viewing angle can result in a darker image, lower quality image, or even the inability to see the image at all. Early LCD displays had a small viewing angle, but vastly improved technology has allowed for much greater viewing angles; up to nearly parallel to the screen.
Note
Those concerned about privacy and the ability of others to view their screen because of a wide viewing angle should consider a privacy filter.
