A workaround describes a temporary or permanent method of resolving an issue with software or hardware. While a workaround may not be an actual fix, it may be the only method of getting around an issue with no fix. A workaround is required when the company responsible for fixing the problem has not found a fix, is out of business, or no longer supports a product.
