Missing 1MB of system memory.

Issue:

Missing 1MB of system memory.

Cause:

The memory is being allocated for other computer peripherals.

Solution:

Smartdrv is loading and allocating some of your system memory for other peripherals on the computer.

To see if smartdrv is loading or to remove it, edit your autoexec.bat and look for the smartdrv.exe line. If you wish to remove this line, place REM in front of the line, then save the autoexec.bat, and exit.

Additional information:

  • See our autoexec.bat page for additional information about the autoexec.bat file.
  • See our edit command page for additional information about the MS-DOS edit command.
