Switching between MS-DOS Windows in Windows.

Question:

Switching between MS-DOS Windows in Windows.

Additional information:

Users running multiple sessions of a MS-DOS shell or who have a maximized MS-DOS session may find it necessary to easily switch between each of the windows and other programs.

  • If you are looking for information on maximizing or resizing your MS-DOS window, see document CH000020.
  • If you're looking for information about the command to exit the MS-DOS window see document CH000736.

Answer:

Like all other Microsoft Windows programs, users can switch between a MS-DOS window and other windows or programs currently running by pressing the "ALT + TAB" shortcut key.

  • Additional information on computer shortcuts can be found on our shortcut page.

NOTE: Some programs that run in a higher-graphics resolution mode may prevent the user from switching between the MS-DOS window and other windows. In some cases, decreasing the resolution will enable the user to switch between windows.
