AAM

Short for Automatic Acoustic Management, AAM is feature found on new IDE hard disk drives and SATA hard disk drives that slows the rate that the hard disk drive read heads move to help reduce the overall noise from the drive at the cost of slightly decreasing the performance of the drive.
