Carnivore

United States FBI software tool that allows the FBI in cooperation with Internet Service Providers to comply with court orders requiring the collection of certain information about e-mails or other electronic information to or from a specific user. Carnivore was originally known as Omnivore and later was transitioned into Carnivore when moving from Solaris X86 operating systems to Windows NT operating systems.
