Ink cartridge

Disposable container that contains ink for an inkjet printer. An inkjet printer may only have one ink cartridge that contains only black or each of the primary colors including black or will have multiple cartridges each containing their own color. The image to the right is an example of what ink cartridges may look like. As can be seen there are four different cartridges, each containing their own color, in this example cyan, magenta, yellow, and black (CMYK).
  • Additional information about why a printer may not be working after ink cartridges have been replaced can be found on document CH000084.
  • If you're looking for information about properly disposing or recycling printer ink cartridges see our disposal page for companies who specialize in doing this.
