Thirst trap

A thirst trap is a post on a social media website, forum, or other location containing a sexually suggestive selfie. Typically, these pictures contain no nudity, allowing them to remain online because they don't break any rules. Thirst trap posts are done to entice comments, compliments, and reactions from followers and other visitors.

The following list contains examples of the types of pictures considered thirst traps.
- Bathtub or shower shots
- Being naked but covering some parts of the body not to reveal everything
- Erotic gestures with mouth and tongue
- Extreme cleavage
- Pictures while in bed
- Shirtless males
- Short skirts
- Skimpy swimsuit (e.g., thong) or other clothing
- Spandex or other tight and revealing clothing
- Spread legs or another sexual stance
- Tight clothing that reveals sensitive parts of the body
- Pictures showing a corset, lingerie, teddies, underwear, etc.
