smaller version of a much larger image that is used to help conserve
screen space and help enable a user to view multiple images quickly
at once. Thumbnails are also commonly used on the Internet
as they help the web page viewer easily see an image without having
to download the full image unless
they wish to. This helps save bandwidth
for the owner of a web page and helps
speed up viewing time for the visitor.
To view the full version of an image
that is in thumbnail view on the Internet and in other software
programs the user must click the thumbnail version.
