Antistatic mat

Alternatively called a grounding mat, an antistatic mat is an implement set on a floor or table that reduces the risk of electrostatic discharge while working with sensitive equipment. Because antistatic mats collect static electricity, they need to be grounded, oftentimes by plugging them into an outlet.
