A ban is a rule that prohibits or denies access to a resource. For example, a user may be banned from a chat server because they disobeyed the rules or be banned from a game for cheating.
How long does a ban last?
Depending on the service or the severity of the offense, your ban could be temporary and last a few weeks, months, or years. A ban can also be permeate and never expire. Many services, including Computer Hope, will not reverse a ban unless it was created without breaking any rules.
